–    How To Focusing Your Mind
–    How To Get The Right Inspiration
–    How To Get & Stay Motivated
–    How To Get Organisedline-break1Preparing Yourself to Studyline-break1PUTTING ON THE APPROPRIATE READING GLASSES
The most important thing is to first, put on your Ethiopian Spectacles, or what other suited spectacles, for non-Ethiopian’s is required, to help to enable you see more clearly, the Ethiopian – African – Black perspective of History, presented here, through these resources and via Imani’s Website. It should never be forgotten that everyone and anyone, regardless of their Ethnic Group, can benefit from being aware of, as well as understanding better, the history of Africans and humanity in generally, from this unique and specific perspective. As it represents a valid, although often disregarded interpretation of where, as a species i.e. humans, we have been, we are now and what our potential is for the future. It should also be noted that both Ethiopian and none Ethiopian spectacles, can be tainted, smudged or completely darkened through the dirt that may have accumulated over the years.line-break1It is therefore necessary to first wipe your lenses clean, so you can see more clearly. This is easily done, but not as easily achieved, HOW? line-break1YOU MUST rid yourself of any thought or idea that divides or discriminates against humanity and fuels intolerance, racism, classism, tribalism, or divides or measures people based upon their; Skin colour (often called race, a misnomer), Religion, Nationality, Political or any other ties and associations.line-break1YOU MUST also extinguish and put aside any form of hate, anger, revenge, shame, guilt, or other negative human emotion or characteristic.line-break1YOU MUST always keep an OPEN MIND, regardless of your current beliefs.line-break1YOU MUST be willing to adapt or change your views and beliefs, when confronted with new information that may challenge your current belief and stance on any particular topic.line-break1YOU MUST always seek to find the TRUTH and not what you want to find, excepting also this TRUTH, even if it hurts, it will only be your ego, which eventually you will have no use of anyway.line-break1YOU MUST approach your studies at all times with LOVE IN YOUR HEART, this is the most import rule. If you do this all other points above will be dealt with simultaneously.line-break1THE GREATEST KNOWLEDGE
The greatest knowledge to have or to know; what actually brings wisdom and makes you wise and enlightened is LOVE, pure & simple. This LOVE comes directly from the HEART in the metaphysical sense, and then manifests in the MIND, then the THOUGHTS and finally it reaches the Brain. It is whilst in the brain that it is confronted by other knowledge or information, mainly dealing with your immediate environment, or recent or past experiences, your likes and dislikes and a myriad of other physical things, stored there.
Wisdom comes from FINDING the BALANCE, between the TWO and FAITH comes from ALWAYS giving the HEART the benefit of the doubt, e.g. SHOWING LOVE. Without LOVE all studies are futile, you may become knowledgeable, aware and even great or famous, but without love you will never know Wisdom, you will never be Enlightened and you will never truly experience this Wonderful thing that we call LIFE.line-break1HOW TO FOCUS YOUR MIND
Focus your mind upon things or people that will help motivate or inspire you to keep on track in your studies. This can literally be anything or anybody, such as a religious icon, your child or another, the world and everyone and thing in it, your ancestors, your future offspring, literally anything. As long as by focusing on this thing, you are motivated and inspired to study and learn more, then use it. Focusing your mind on your studies can be difficult, especially if you have a demanding life, with responsibilities and commitments that take up the greater part of your day, not to mention your thoughts. However having a focus on your studies is also essential to ensure any real and lasting results. Even as little as 1 hour per day, of focus on your studies can produce great fruits if stuck to over a period. So try in amidst all else that is going on, have some focus on your studies. Maybe the points below can help you to achieve this.line-break1HOW TO GET THE RIGHT INSPIRATION
Find also a quote or proverb that encourages you to learn and put it in a visible format (printed on paper or as a poster etc.) and in plain view, where you can see it everyday at least twice a day. Recite it every time you see it until memorised, then find another quote, once the first has been firmly established on your heart. There are many thousands of such quotes to choose from, however if you are unaware of any at this time, then refer to any of the quotes featured throughout Imani’s Website.line-break1HOW TO GET & STAY MOTIVATED
Whatever motivated, encouraged or inspired you to ever look into history in the first place, as a means of being better informed and possibly even a better person. Always keep this firmly in your thoughts. It is likely if you actually remember this, that it did at the time spark or switch on a LIGHT inside, that your intention should be to begin or even to continue to walk into that LIGHT and out of the darkness of ignorance.   Focusing the mind and reciting encouraging statements of people you revere will help to do this, i.e. get and keep you motivated. Nevertheless sometimes even negative things and thoughts can be used positively to keep you motivated, often more so than the positive people & things do themselves.
An example of this is remembering if you are a descendant of African slaves the popular saying and strategy of the slave owners i.e. “If you want to hide something from a slave put it in a book” as a means of motivating yourself, firstly to find what ever has been hidden and secondly, if found proving to yourself that you are no longer a slave, i.e. The TRUTH has SET YOU FREE.line-break1HOW TO GET ORGANISED
To make good progress as well as achieve the most with what you have, you must be organised. This organisation, again starts with the mind, organise this and everything else will follow. What is meant by this is that organisation is determined by stable thoughts leading to regular and precise action.
Similar to focusing your mind, but not specifically on things or people, but on priorities. Poor organisation leads to destruction and chaos, this is normally as a result of poor memory or forgetfulness. Good organisation is a result of remembering and never forgetting. Apply this analogy to NEVER forgetting who you are, what your ancestors have endured for you to be here? Your responsibility to your family, your community, your nation and the human race, and this should help to motivate, inspire and keep you organised.line-break1Imani hopes that his advice, to help prepare people for their studies will be of use to all those hoping; To find the TRUTH AND SET THEMSELVES FREEline-break1DOWNLOAD OR PRINT THIS PAGE (PDF)

study-guide-banner copy[su_spoiler title=”IMANI’S INTRODUCTION TO: ETHIOPIANISM” style=”fancy” icon=”plus-square-1″][su_tabs][su_tab title=”WHAT?”]Encyclopaedia Britannica: line-break1Ethiopianism, religious movement among sub-Saharan Africans that embodied the earliest stirrings toward religious and political freedom in the modern colonial period. The movement was initiated in the 1880s when South African mission workers began forming independent all-African churches, such as the Tembu tribal church (1884) and the Church of Africa (1889). An ex-Wesleyan minister, Mangena Mokone, was the first to use the term when he founded the Ethiopian Church (1892).line-break1Imani’s Note: line-break1As the above definition states Ethiopianism is an idea or concept that focuses on Ethiopia. Nevertheless what is very important to note is that no country in this world existed, called Ethiopia until 1930. A fact not normally understood, but very significant in understanding the importance of both the term Ethiopianism as well as the actual modern county of Ethiopia today and its potential role in the future of Africa, not to mention the world. This focus or idea of Ethiopianism is the foundation upon which many individuals and groups emerged out of, in the 19th and 20th century, both in Africa and in the Diaspora. Notwithstanding that it is also the foundation upon which this Imani’s Website is built. Although thought to be a concept that no longer exists in its purest forms, but without doubt to catalyst that spearheaded many movements that today are manifest in peripheral or organization, who themselves may not fully be aware of their Ethiopianism roots. Imani through this website and his activism aims to continue as well as propagate Ethiopianism into and within this 21st Century.line-break1Also it is maintained that at no other time in history of the world, could this idea of Ethiopianism be fully understood and put into a context that can analyze its true significance as a tool to FREE the MINDS of people, of not only African Black Heritage, but of African Heritage period, i.e. the world and everyone in it. Only after the facts could such an analysis be made, meaning only after the focal point which is of course the emergence of the physical Ethiopia in 1930, more than a century after this idea was first propagated and the activities of the last (not final) Emperor of Ethiopia did, e.g. after 1975. Any analysis before this time therefore would be lacking, not through the fault or to the discredit of anyone, but due simply down to time.
Time is the Master, but can be a Disaster if you Don’t Care, a most fitted line from a popular reggae song, time, nothing can not happen before the time. This is the case with Ethiopianism, although now not even in the minds or on the agenda, of people, it is only now and the generations born and people living after 1975 that this idea can truly be understood and utilized as a frame of mind that can literally change this world.
[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”AIM”]What is the purpose of Studying this subject? line-break1Learning about Ethiopianism as it developed in the African Black world can be very interesting and important to any investigator. However there are two main strands of this Ethiopianism both having their own objective, although producing similar if not identical results. There is Ethiopianism from a political perspective or from a religious or spiritual perspective. The latter is much more easier to define and therefore research as most or a lot of this has been documented, due to the success at the time of individuals and groups drawing from this idea.
However the religious and spiritual although defined easily in some instances, such as it’s specific use in the development of the early African lead church’s on the continent particularly South Africa, and possibly as a impetus for the Rasta faith. line-break1This aspect of Ethiopianism is a lot more allusive, as it is a well known fact that a form of Ethiopianism existed amongst African Slaves throughout the New World, from the outset. This Ethiopianism is possibly even more significant than that that is more extensively documented. It’s form was in association, meaning enslaved Africans from all over West & Central Africa representing hundreds of different tribes, (clans or families), dispersed throughout the Caribbean, North & South America, identified themselves as Ethiopian, the only collective term other than African to be used by these diverse enslaved African. line-break1This is mostly evident from the secretive religious meetings and groups that were set up by slaves, that included Ethiopia in their name, obvious many years before any real Ethiopia existed, and was due to the fact that the only material available to them at the time was the Bible, which they even had to learn and read in secret. It is from reading this book that many without coercion or indoctrination, clearly identified themselves as Ethiopians. Knowledge, researching of all these aspects of Ethiopian’s can give us a very good insight into the significance of this particular idea, today in our 21st Century.[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”POINTS”]Imani’s Key Pointsline-break1activist 3There are two main strands of Ethiopianism, political and religious or spiritual, although the former is normally the only one credited.  It is important to take note of this whilst studying this topic.line-break1activist 3Ethiopianism is actually an ancient idea and concepts with at least 8,000 years of documented evidence and heritage.line-break1activist 3Ethiopianism emerged at time when African Black people were at their lowest and most vulnerable i.e. during the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, and pre-colonisation and later actual colonisation of Africa.line-break1activist 3Ethiopianism was a term first coined and used by people in Africa, as a means of maintaining a African identify in defence against external influences, particularly from a religious perspective.line-break1activist 3Ethiopianism exists today in our modern world through many different guises. The most popular, active and visible of these traditions is the Rastafari Movement, founded in Jamaica in the Caribbean.line-break1activist 3Both The Rt. Honourable Marcus M. It is not simply that having on your Ethiopian Spectacles, you will fully understand what Ethiopianism is, what it is supposed to be or more importantly, what it could be. In fact here it becomes a bit more complex as, Ethiopianism could represent anyone who see’s Ethiopia in either a historic or modern sense as a focal point and vehicle to remobilising the entire African Black world, this would possibly include most if not all citizens of modern Ethiopia, all Rasta’s as well as Rasta sympathisers, some Black Christian’s both in Africa and in the Diaspora and many other what we will call conscious people. line-break1Nevertheless this complexity comes in a fact that whereas all people who fit the description above can claim to be and in reality are Ethiopian, even though you may have put on the Ethiopian Spectacles, this will likewise only entitle you to be classified as an Ethiopian. However it should be noted that there are historically two legitimate branches of Ethiopians both with independent histories, these are The Blameless and the Careless Ethiopians, easily differentiated from one another as well as recognisable simply by observation and listening.line-break1Here therefore is the key to fully understanding as well as truly benefiting and engaging Ethiopianism as a credible vehicle of uplift in the 21st Century, knowing the difference and being able to identify who is blameless or careless. To achieve this you must first know what an Ethiopian is suppose to be, amidst family of humankind. This is the foundation actually of Ethiopianism and what this idea is actually built upon, for example and as you will later see as you progress your studies, the Ethiopian of old (ancient times) according to all sources even their enemies, manifested as people and as a culture, some of the highest qualities and virtues of the human family, peaceful, loving, tolerant, devoted, courageous, humble plus a range of other characteristics that exemplify the character of the human species. Although many may wish to focus on the fact that Ethiopians were often featured in the annuals of history as slaves, but on no account would this discredit these noted enslaved Ethiopians, never does place them in the careless category, but to the contrary, even as slaves these same Ethiopian Slaves of history often showed and displayed greater wisdom not to mention human qualities than their captors.line-break1So when we can discern what a Ethiopian is and what he or she suppose to be, then we can easily identify all who do not display these qualities, to be the careless. In conclusion Ethiopianism through Ethiopian Spectacles, produces Ethiopians, the blameless kind. So always remember that to be an Ethiopian, is not enough, you must be a Blameless Ethiopian in the tradition and according to the standard of our Wonderful Blameless Ethiopian Ancestors. line-break1Last Note Before You Begin Your Research: line-break1Now you have an idea what this subject area is all about, if you would like to acquire a better understanding of it, then please access the corresponding topic resources above.   By studying these above topics you will no doubt better prepare yourself for any future study of history or any other subject for that matter, as all things are linked, directly or indirectly[/su_tab][/su_tabs][/su_spoiler][su_spoiler title=”IMANI’S ETHIOPIANISM TOPIC NOTES” style=”fancy” icon=”plus-square-1″][su_tabs][su_tab title=”HELP”]Click on the tabs to the right to enter the Specific Topics.  Find out the relevance of these topics to both African people and the humanity in general.  After you have familiarised yourself with these Topics with the identified Key Points of interest. Not only to understand this, but what its relevance and significance is to them specifically, in the past, at present and for the future.  Ethiopianism possibly could mean different things to different people, as with any other idea.  However it is important that Africans have a definite idea of what it has meant to others in the past.  This can be achieved by looking into history, for people or nations who utilised this philosophy to inspire as well as unite diverse African groups in a common cause.  As already stated in both in the introduction and summary of this topic, Ethiopianism has been engaged in both a political & religious or spiritual agenda, to raise the aspirations of African people.  Therefore to understand or get an understanding of what Ethiopianism is or could could, we must research and study, what has been its relevance and significance to Africans of the past. line-break1What is this topic’s specific relevance and significance in world history & heritage?line-break1globeAlso mentioned in both the introduction and summary of this topic, it is very important that non-African people also get an understanding of what Ethiopianism actually is?  This knowledge and awareness will help them to alleviate any fears whatsoever that this ideology in any way can be or attempts to be in any way a threat to the peace, security and well being of non-Africans, but to the contrary will prove beyond doubt that this ideology is the only logical and realist option African have before, to try and re-establish themselves in the world on an equal footing with other ethnic group.  Therefore ultimately the only way this world of ours will ever “Know Peace” and the Brotherly, Sisterly love can once again flourish throughout the earth.line-break1KEY POINTS TO RESEARCHline-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Descriptions & Forms:- You Must Find out: About the

WHY? & WHO?line-break1What is this topic’s specific relevance and significance to African people & their heritage?line-break1africaIt is important for Africans to know exactly when this idea of Ethiopianism or focus upon the heritage of the Legendary Ethiopia and Ethiopians surfaced and impacted upon the lives of African people in the past.  One of the earliest instance of this idea, can be dated definitely to the 8th century when the Kushite Pharaohs, engaged their authentic Ethiopian linage as a means not only to legitimately assume the Ancient Egyptian Throne, but also use this ancestry and linage to unite the whole of Egypt, a feet only achieved in the most ancient of times.  This however is not the first instance when this ideology was used in history, but can be used as a definite point in history when Ethiopianism was used for these specific purposes and through these vehicles, i.e. to claim the authority equal to all humans, unite people directly descended from this legendary Ethnic group and with a definite political and religious agenda.  This is the significance and relevance of Ethiopianism, as its heritage can be traced without question to one of the largest empires of the Ancient world and definitely the largest ever in Africa.  It is also very important for Africans to know those individuals and groups in modern times that have also engaged this ideology with remarkable results and success.  Many of these individuals are well known to people, although are aware of the Ethiopianism that fuelled them. line-break1What is this topic’s specific relevance and significance in world history & heritage?line-break1globeIt is also very important for non-Africans to be aware of who these great propagators of Ethiopianism have been, both in the Ancient world and in our modern times.  In fact of great significance is the fact that after learning about those individuals life, their words and sayings, in addition to their vision not only for black African people, but for humanity in general, it will be evident the benefit of Ethiopianism to humanity and the future of the entire human species.  One of the latest icons of modern Ethiopianism although the this terminology is never applied to this individual is the Late Great Nelson Mandela.  Who like many other south African’s where direct inheritors of modern Ethiopianism that took root in South Africa in the 19th century.  Further proof of Mandela’s adhering strictly and always to the philosophy of Ethiopianism and proof that he himself was personally and strong advocate of this idea, can be found in his words.  All of them before his incarceration during and after.  This is seen clearly and very evident once study and research of any individual who in the past had directly claimed an Ethiopianism philosophy and agenda, where one will find tat their ideas for  both African and non-Africans were virtually identical.  Meaning Mandela was not saying anything new, but that he said at a time when the world was more perceptive to it.line-break1KEY POINTS TO RESEARCHline-break1God_Neter_Bullet2When? :- You Must Find out: About references in Ancient | Medieval | Modern | Africa | Diasporaline-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Where?:- You Must Find out: About references in
