–    How To Get The Right Inspiration
–    How To Get & Stay Motivated
–    How To Get Organisedline-break1Preparing Yourself to Studyline-break1PUTTING ON THE APPROPRIATE READING GLASSES
The most important thing is to first, put on your Ethiopian Spectacles, or what other suited spectacles, for non-Ethiopian’s is required, to help to enable you see more clearly, the Ethiopian – African – Black perspective of History, presented here, through these resources and via Imani’s Website. It should never be forgotten that everyone and anyone, regardless of their Ethnic Group, can benefit from being aware of, as well as understanding better, the history of Africans and humanity in generally, from this unique and specific perspective. As it represents a valid, although often disregarded interpretation of where, as a species i.e. humans, we have been, we are now and what our potential is for the future. It should also be noted that both Ethiopian and none Ethiopian spectacles, can be tainted, smudged or completely darkened through the dirt that may have accumulated over the years.line-break1It is therefore necessary to first wipe your lenses clean, so you can see more clearly. This is easily done, but not as easily achieved, HOW? line-break1YOU MUST rid yourself of any thought or idea that divides or discriminates against humanity and fuels intolerance, racism, classism, tribalism, or divides or measures people based upon their; Skin colour (often called race, a misnomer), Religion, Nationality, Political or any other ties and associations.line-break1YOU MUST also extinguish and put aside any form of hate, anger, revenge, shame, guilt, or other negative human emotion or characteristic.line-break1YOU MUST always keep an OPEN MIND, regardless of your current beliefs.line-break1YOU MUST be willing to adapt or change your views and beliefs, when confronted with new information that may challenge your current belief and stance on any particular topic.line-break1YOU MUST always seek to find the TRUTH and not what you want to find, excepting also this TRUTH, even if it hurts, it will only be your ego, which eventually you will have no use of anyway.line-break1YOU MUST approach your studies at all times with LOVE IN YOUR HEART, this is the most import rule. If you do this all other points above will be dealt with simultaneously.line-break1THE GREATEST KNOWLEDGE
The greatest knowledge to have or to know; what actually brings wisdom and makes you wise and enlightened is LOVE, pure & simple. This LOVE comes directly from the HEART in the metaphysical sense, and then manifests in the MIND, then the THOUGHTS and finally it reaches the Brain. It is whilst in the brain that it is confronted by other knowledge or information, mainly dealing with your immediate environment, or recent or past experiences, your likes and dislikes and a myriad of other physical things, stored there.
Wisdom comes from FINDING the BALANCE, between the TWO and FAITH comes from ALWAYS giving the HEART the benefit of the doubt, e.g. SHOWING LOVE. Without LOVE all studies are futile, you may become knowledgeable, aware and even great or famous, but without love you will never know Wisdom, you will never be Enlightened and you will never truly experience this Wonderful thing that we call LIFE.line-break1HOW TO FOCUS YOUR MIND
Focus your mind upon things or people that will help motivate or inspire you to keep on track in your studies. This can literally be anything or anybody, such as a religious icon, your child or another, the world and everyone and thing in it, your ancestors, your future offspring, literally anything. As long as by focusing on this thing, you are motivated and inspired to study and learn more, then use it. Focusing your mind on your studies can be difficult, especially if you have a demanding life, with responsibilities and commitments that take up the greater part of your day, not to mention your thoughts. However having a focus on your studies is also essential to ensure any real and lasting results. Even as little as 1 hour per day, of focus on your studies can produce great fruits if stuck to over a period. So try in amidst all else that is going on, have some focus on your studies. Maybe the points below can help you to achieve this.line-break1HOW TO GET THE RIGHT INSPIRATION
Find also a quote or proverb that encourages you to learn and put it in a visible format (printed on paper or as a poster etc.) and in plain view, where you can see it everyday at least twice a day. Recite it every time you see it until memorised, then find another quote, once the first has been firmly established on your heart. There are many thousands of such quotes to choose from, however if you are unaware of any at this time, then refer to any of the quotes featured throughout Imani’s Website.line-break1HOW TO GET & STAY MOTIVATED
Whatever motivated, encouraged or inspired you to ever look into history in the first place, as a means of being better informed and possibly even a better person. Always keep this firmly in your thoughts. It is likely if you actually remember this, that it did at the time spark or switch on a LIGHT inside, that your intention should be to begin or even to continue to walk into that LIGHT and out of the darkness of ignorance.   Focusing the mind and reciting encouraging statements of people you revere will help to do this, i.e. get and keep you motivated. Nevertheless sometimes even negative things and thoughts can be used positively to keep you motivated, often more so than the positive people & things do themselves.
An example of this is remembering if you are a descendant of African slaves the popular saying and strategy of the slave owners i.e. “If you want to hide something from a slave put it in a book” as a means of motivating yourself, firstly to find what ever has been hidden and secondly, if found proving to yourself that you are no longer a slave, i.e. The TRUTH has SET YOU FREE.line-break1HOW TO GET ORGANISED
To make good progress as well as achieve the most with what you have, you must be organised. This organisation, again starts with the mind, organise this and everything else will follow. What is meant by this is that organisation is determined by stable thoughts leading to regular and precise action.
Similar to focusing your mind, but not specifically on things or people, but on priorities. Poor organisation leads to destruction and chaos, this is normally as a result of poor memory or forgetfulness. Good organisation is a result of remembering and never forgetting. Apply this analogy to NEVER forgetting who you are, what your ancestors have endured for you to be here? Your responsibility to your family, your community, your nation and the human race, and this should help to motivate, inspire and keep you organised.line-break1Imani hopes that his advice, to help prepare people for their studies will be of use to all those hoping; To find the TRUTH AND SET THEMSELVES FREEline-break1DOWNLOAD OR PRINT THIS PAGE (PDF)

Here are some tips and tricks of how to get the most from using Imani’s Website and Study Guide Resources & Toolsline-break1
[1]     Read Imani’s Advice, Preparing to Studyline-break1[2]     Study each topic separately.line-break1[3]     Set up a study schedule for a defined period, e.g. 6 weeks.line-break1[4]     You can decide on any length of time to study, in accordance with your other commitments, however a minimum of 6 weeks and a maximum of 3 months or 12 weeks should be adhered to for each topic to be studied.line-break1[5]     Remember you are only building or setting up a foundation, to gain a broader knowledge base,  each topic can and should become a lifetime study and even after this, you would still need more time to know everything concerning it.line-break1[6]     Complete your schedule and study plan, e,g. how many books you wish to read or time you will spend reading, watching video’s etc.  (this will determine what you can realistically learn and achieve over this period).line-break1[7]     It is suggested that to get any realistic benefit from this research or your study plan you must allocate a minimum of 1 hour per day to your study, e.g. 1hr x 7 days = 7hrs x 6 weeks = approximately 42 hours of study per topic.  Sufficient time to form a good knowledge base, as most Level 1 courses are normally only 30 hrs maximum in the UK.line-break1[8]     Set yourself realistic goals of what you think you want to know by the end of your study.line-break1[9]     Review your study progress at least twice during your schedule e.g if a 6 week schedule then on your 2nd and 4th week. Review you study a maximum of 4 times over the duration of your research.line-break1[10]     Set up a new folder or folders on your computer (device) in order to save your personal notes and to archive corresponding researched material. e.g. Main Folder = My History Research, Sub Folders = Prehistory / Ancient History etc.line-break1[11]     Remember to always identify and select all necessary known available resources needed, before you begin to study.line-break1[12]     Choose what ever method of assessment suits you, to monitor and measure your progress e.g. TEST, GAME. study-guide-banner copy[su_spoiler title=”IMANI’S INTRODUCTION TO: AFRICAN DIASPORA” style=”fancy” icon=”plus-square-1″][su_tabs][su_tab title=”WHAT?”]Oxford Dictionary Definition: line-break1The African diaspora refers to the communities throughout the world that are descended from the historic movement of peoples from Africa, predominantly to the Americas, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, among other areas around the globe. The term has been historically applied in particular to the descendants of the West and Central Africans who were enslaved and shipped to the Americas by way of the Atlantic slave trade, with the largest population in Brazil despite some misconceptions (see Afro-Brazilian), followed by the USA and others.line-break1Imani’s Note: line-break1The above definitions is quiet accurate in defining what the African Diaspora represents, however, as in most cases when defining this group, much preference is as the above statement also indicates, is given to those displaced by the Trans Atlantic Slave Trade, e.g. those displaced from the 16th century and to the America’s and Caribbean. Nevertheless mention is sometimes made of those displaced through the Arab slave trade, but very little focus or attention is paid to those Africans displaced through this trade. In addition to this seldom spoken of aspect of the African Diaspora, are those Africans who have left the continent and settled in other parts and regions of the world. These last members by far would have the longest heritage of any member of the other two defined groups outside Africa, as these migrations out of African has been constant, over many thousands of years, before, during and after both the Arab & European slave trades. In reality and the true facts are that every single person on this earth, regardless of their ethnicity could be justifiably defined as part of the African Diaspora, as all evidence proves that at some time in their history, their ancestors or ancestor migrated out of Africa.line-break1Baring all this in mind, our specific study and research on the history and culture of the African Diaspora must therefore include all groups, individuals and members who can be easily prove to constitute part of the African Diaspora. Nevertheless in order to narrow this particular study, so as not to swamp and burden ourselves with the history and culture of the entire planet. We will focus our attention to those people who can positively be identified as having black or dark skin e.g. Ethiopians. Still scouring the heritage of the world, but only where direct reference and connections can be made to African Black people.[/su_tab][su_tab title=”AIM”]What is the purpose of Studying this subject? line-break1The purpose of studying this particular topic is to first; identify the diversity and distribution of the past and current African Diaspora, and secondly; to establish the shared cultural heritage, similarity in circumstances and therefore the shared responsibility members of this current Diaspora have, in trying to help both themselves, in addition to the continent and the family of clans or tribes that ultimately they have all descended from.   Whilst studying this subject and these topics the investigator will find how resilient and enduring African people and their cultural traditions have been and remain today, displayed both in Africa and throughout the Diaspora. Additionally, how much of this Diaspora have adopted the cultures, traditions, language and even religions of the people they have and are living amongst, but how in many if not all case this adoption has not been without adaptation that outwardly demonstrates their African heritance. As well as learning about these people and their cultures and tradition this study can be very useful to identify some of the current issues and concerns presently affecting different members of this Diaspora  .[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”POINTS”]Imani’s Key Pointsline-break1activist 3The culture and history of the African Diaspora to be researched and studied using these resources and study guides, will be specific to those who can easily be identified as being black or dark skinned, e.g. Ethiopian.line-break1activist 3Groups as well as individuals identified through this study, will have lived at any time in history and anywhere in the world, as long as they fit the above criteria.line-break1activist 3Although focus is normally given to the members of this African Diaspora displaced into the new world, or Americas’, it is suggested that equal focus and attention is paid in this study to members of this Diaspora found in the Near East, Far East, Europe and elsewhere.line-break1activist 3Large and very significant populations of members of the African Diaspora, many thousands, hundreds and even millions of this Diaspora can be found in countries throughout the world.line-break1activist 3When calculating the numbers of people the African Diaspora may represent, few people even include those outside of the more popular new world Diaspora, e.g. the America’s & Caribbean and their direct descendants. Even this number alone would still represent between 150 – 200 million people possibly more.line-break1activist 3If the whole African Diaspora was included in this calculation, we would possibly find that this figure would possibly be very close if not exceed a quarter of a billion people, or equal to a quarter of the population of Africans on the continent itself, a very significant number.line-break1activist 3Some of the adapted cultures of these members of the African Diaspora both in the past and at present did and have become part and has had a great influence upon mainstream culture, examples are, reggae music, hip hop, jazz, samba to name but a few[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”LEARN”]What you will learn by studying this Subjectline-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Who can really claim to be a member of the African Diaspora?line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Where and when did this African Diaspora emerge or developed?line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2What were the main factors leading to the dispersal of this Diaspora?line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Some of the many established arts, cultures and traditions of this Diaspora found throughout the world.line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2An estimation of how many people constitute the African Diaspora?.line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2What are the current issues affecting diverse groups and members of this Diaspora?line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2What is and has been the influence of this Diaspora upon the region and people they reside.line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2What has been the influence of this Diaspora on world culture and heritage.line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Important individuals and groups who have made a specific impact upon Africans and the world in general.line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2What current strategies, agenda’s and programmes are in place to help members of this Diaspora globally?line-break1God_Neter_Bullet2The relationship between the culture and traditions of this Diaspora and traditional African cultureline-break1[/su_tab] [su_tab title=”SUMMARY”] “Putting on the Ethiopian Spectacles” line-break1spectacles2Putting on Ethiopian Spectacles, in this instance, is vital, more so possibly than when studying any other subject barring religion and spirituality. Why? Because this particular knowledge, if absorbed within the right frame of mind and with the right motivation and intention, can help guide the investigator to an awareness that could ultimately change not only their own life but the life of many others also. How? You may ask, the evidence and proof of this fact is evident and can be authenticated very easily, without looking very far either, in fact the evidence is right before your eyes.line-break1Awareness of this Diaspora, once recognized or realized by a member of it, who once was ignorant to it or their own personal associations with it, often compels and encourages that individual like myself to try and help, or at least direct other people’s attention to the plight of this Diaspora. Although my own personal example may not be sufficient evidence, it must be remembered that mine is but a continuation of the vision of many others like myself, including a great champion of this Diaspora, Marcus Garvey, who also after recognizing the existence of this dispersed African Diaspora, and his own place in it, he then put in place strategies, idea’s and concepts as well as propagated a programme that aimed to unify this Diaspora, in order to change the circumstance of not only this Diaspora but the African Black Ethiopian family as a whole. In fact one of Marcus Garvey’s most popular saying and the motto, used throughout his campaign was “Africa for the Africans at home and abroad” a clear indication that all are and should be one, in their world view regardless of where in the world Africans may find themselves. line-break1Last Note Before You Begin Your Research: line-break1Now you have an idea what this subject area is all about, if you would like to acquire a better understanding of it, then please access the corresponding topic resources above.   By studying these above topics you will no doubt better prepare yourself for any future study of history or any other subject for that matter, as all things are linked, directly or indirectly[/su_tab][/su_tabs][/su_spoiler][su_spoiler title=”IMANI’S AFRICAN DIASPORA TOPIC NOTES” style=”fancy” icon=”plus-square-1″][su_tabs][su_tab title=”HELP”]Click on the tabs to the right to enter the specific TOPICS.  Find out the relevance of these topics to both African people and humanity in general.  After you have familiarised yourself with these topics with the identified KEY POINTS of interest. The consequence of this has been the depopulation and dispersal of this region of its native inhabitants, mostly to the north and the displacement of millions of Africans, currently represented by close to a 100 million living descendants residing in this region and elsewhere.   Not to mention the destruction and depopulation of many then thriving African countries in the process. American so-called discovery by come-bus-us-up a.k.a Columbus in 1498, on his third voyage,  much evidence exist to suggest that Africans had been visiting and also settling there centuries before.  Nevertheless our main interest and its main relevance, relates specifically to the dates proceeding 1498 up to our present day and more specifically to the lives and experiences of those African people brought there as slaves.  It is also important to note that it is in this region, that the majority of African’s brought from Africa were displaced. This information and this awareness, seldom understood, is of paramount importance to fully understanding not only the history and heritage of African people generally, but more specifically the African Diaspora as a whole.  This heritage can prove also to be a great source of inspiration also for the entire African world, as within it, we are introduced to many great individuals who have excelled in all manner of things, in addition to have developed out of their African heritage and their S. Although it is true that the British Isle has possibly been the home or dwelling of the most influential of Africans in Europe and definitely have the most dense and highest population of African’s together with the African Diaspora residing there.  Nevertheless Africans have and do reside throughout European countries, many individuals from this Diaspora have also contributed much to the heritage of African people, as well as directly contributed to the struggles of African people for equal rights, justice and fare treatment over the past 400 years. It is the heritage of these Africans and this Diaspora found throughout Europe that this Topic and this research, seeks to explore. As a valid and valuable part of African heritage generally.line-break1What is this topic’s specific relevance and significance in world history & heritage?line-break1globeThe history of the African Diaspora in Europe is of the utmost importance to and in the heritage of the world and has a specific relevance for ethnic European.  As mentioned previously there has been an African presence and therefore diaspora in Europe from the dawn of that continents history, see also Subject 1: Topic’s 3 & 4.  This presence has continued unbroken from then, up until our present times.  The reasons and causes for this or these migrations have been many. The circumstance and environment that these Africans found, also defer considerably depended upon what time or era in time they arrived.  It is true that at one time this migration, resulted and was responsible for the earliest inhabitants in this region and therefore it can be easily proved that all Europeans descend from some element of the African Diaspora.  Nevertheless for this particular Topic, as our focus is upon the current African Diaspora, our objective will be to identify countless amount of individuals, groups and communities, that have and do reside there and at the same time highlight many facts concerning the more recent influx of Africans over the past 4 – 5 hundred years, who unknowingly to most, can be traced through the bloodline of countless families throughout Europe.  This is hope to begin to breakdown the barriers and false assumptions of race.  As whether we go back 100,000 years, 6,000 years, 60 years or 60 seconds, ultimately we are all One Family, under One Sun, & One God.  line-break1KEY TOPICS TO RESEARCHline-break1God_Neter_Bullet2Prehistoric Migrations:- You Must Find out: About the When?
